The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is on a four day Interactive Retreat with selected National Assembly Committees. The event is scheduled to hold from the 16th to 19th of April 2013 at Gingiya Hotel Sokoto, Northwest, Nigeria.
The Retreat is being chaired by the Hon. Chairman of the Commission, Professor Attahiru Jega. Members’ Senate Committee on INEC and Members’ House of Representatives Committee on INEC are expected to be in attendance. Also being expected are INEC National Commissioners and some selected Directors of the Commission.
The Retreat amongst other things seeks to examine issues related to:
- Presentation on the Plan for the Delimitation of Constituencies.
- Presentation on the proposed Amendments to the Constitution and the Electoral Act.
- Presentation of the INEC Strategic Plan 2012-2016.
The Retreat will end on Friday the 19th of April and a communiqué is expected to be issued.
