Ahead of the governorship election in Ondo state, scheduled for Saturday, 26th November 2016, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), is to organize a stakeholders forum to ensure Political Parties and their candidates as well as all stakeholders involved in the election commit to peaceful conduct of the election.
The stakeholders Forum is scheduled to hold in Akure, the Ondo state capital on Tuesday, 22nd November 2016.
Similarly, the Commission will commence configuration of Smart Card Readers (SCR) to be used for the election, tomorrow Thursday 17th, November 2016.
The Commission will also commence a two-day training for Collation/ Returning Officers for the Ondo gubernatorial election on the 21st of November 2016. It will end on Tuesday, 22nd November 2016.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), is to deploy sixteen thousand seven hundred and twenty three (16,723) personnel for the Ondo governorship election.
Ondo state is made up of eighteen (18) Local Government Areas, 203 Registration Areas, and 3,010 Polling Units. It has a total of 1,660,055 registered voters.
